    Yoga is for everyone; it is the ultimate exercise and method of self improvement, combining Mind, Body and Breath.

    Our Beginners Yoga Course is the ideal way to begin your practice – designed for anyone with little or no experience. In our 6 week beginners course, you will be introduced to some of the fundamental yoga poses concentrating on healthy alignment and establishing a deeper awareness of your breathing. Instruction in meditation and relaxation techniques will also be given. Some of the many benefits of Yoga include improvement in posture and breathing, increased tone, strength and flexibility, a greater ability to cope with stress and a feeling of calm. The practice builds week by week, providing a solid foundation and inspiring you for regular Yoga practice. You WILL feel better for it!

    Our experienced instructor has a lifelong passion for Yoga. With a relaxed, friendly style, welcoming to all, she is well used to adapting movement to meet everyone’s needs.

    Our specialist Pilates for Back Care course is for anyone with persistent back issues who has been cleared to start gentle exercise by their GP or specialist, or who has non-specific back pain. We aim to remove some of the fear about starting exercise again and help you gently strengthen and learn about your core muscles, to properly support your spine. It will be bespoke and only 6 people on the course so that we can give you the personal attention you need.

    A 10 week total beginner's course to help you get your confidence and ability up and running! With UK Athletics 'Leadership in Running' qualified instructors, the course will be 10 weeks at around 45 minutes on a Thursday evening 6.45pm, AND/OR a Mon eve, 6.45pm, meeting at the Community Centre on Shilton Park. We recommend that you jog twice per week, so if you can attend both days, that is great, but if you can only get to one, then we recommend you get out again sometime during the week. The course is flexible too, so you can swap from Thu one week to Mon the next if you are away or work shifts - the Mon is a repeat of the previous Thu.

    Many of you will have looked at or tried the Couch to 5k programme - it's an awesome programme (and we loosely follow it), but there is no substitute for running with people of the same ability as you, getting some information on breathing techniques, footfall, stretching, pacing, clothing and trainers. You will get outstanding encouragement and support from our leaders (and from each other), plus great general running advice too. We have found that the group ethos REALLY helps, and we have a private Facebook group especially for course members. For those who want to continue running with us after the course, we have a follow-on skills course and 4 running groups per week; the Mon & Thu evening sessions are perfect for those just off the beginner's course to help you continue to improve, learn new training techniques and build your confidence to complete a 5km (or more!). However, there is no obligation to keep running with us - you'll have enough confidence to do it on your own after the course.

    The cost of the Walk 2 Jog course is £60, payable before the course starts.
